TWO VOICES,
ONE CONVERSATION

Pacifica Duo

Established in 2026 by Canadian pianist Chapman Wong and Hong Kong cellist Keith Lau, Pacifica Duo is an Ottawa‑based duo. Drawing on their transnational musical backgrounds and a shared cultural heritage rooted in Hong Kong, the duo brings an international sensibility to its emerging artistic presence in Canada’s musical community.

Pacifica – derived from the Latin pacificus, meaning “peace‑bringing” and associated with the Pacific Ocean – reflects the musicians’ shared roots on opposite sides of the Pacific Rim, a connection that echoes Canada’s national motto, “From Sea to Sea”, and offers audiences a blend of clarity, warmth, and expressive collaboration.
